In order to create a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment for all event attendees, by registering and attending, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Specifically, you will
- be collaborative with and considerate, respectful, and mindful of speakers, staff, partners, and attendees;
- cease conduct that makes others uncomfortable when asked to do so;
- alert staff to any dangerous or harassing situation or an attendee in distress;
- refrain from intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, indecent, or demeaning speech or action, in person or online;
- abstain from deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwelcome sexual attention to others;
- abstain from hounding or threatening speakers in person, online, or via chat or social media;
- discuss opposing viewpoints with a respectful tone and without personal attacks;
- refrain from possessing weapons on the premises, notwithstanding local laws that may permit them, without the express permission of NACD;
- refrain from directly selling services to fellow attendees;
- refrain from substance abuse that affects relationships with other attendees;
- refrain from recording presentations; and
- wear your event name badge (for in-person events).
You understand that NACD has the right to immediately remove any offending attendee in order to allow the event to continue without further disturbance and that no refunds will be granted to removed attendees.
NACD reserves the right to enact additional consequences for violations of the above expectations, up to and including barring participation at future NACD events. Additionally, revocation of NACD Directorship Certification® credentials and/or NACD membership in accordance with relevant policies and procedures may be considered.
We are coming together in support of a peer-sharing environment that promotes independent discussion and builds confidence in governance best practices. Please remember that we must avoid any conversation or activity that could be interpreted as anticompetitive or in violation of antitrust laws. This includes, but is not limited to, discussions about prices, pricing strategies, customer or market allocations, or any agreements that could restrict competition. Our goal is to share insights, foster innovation, and advance governance and oversight—while strictly adhering to all applicable legal and ethical standards.
Thank you for helping to make the event a success for everyone.
