Shane Goodwin serves as the associate dean of Graduate Programs and Executive Education and professor of practice in Finance at Southern Methodist University’s (SMU’s) Cox School of Business, and as an adjunct professor at SMU’s Dedman School of Law. With over 30 years of extensive experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and investment banking, Goodwin combines deep industry expertise as a practitioner, academic, and board member. His scholarly research primarily addresses corporate governance, shareholder activism, and M&A transactions. Goodwin held senior academic positions at Columbia University and Harvard University and has nearly 25 years of experience in the financial sector with firms such as Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo Securities. Goodwin serves as an expert witness in complex litigation involving corporate finance, M&A, capital markets, and corporate governance issues. He holds the NACD.DC® and is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow.
