George Zaharatos is a principal, the Southeast Area Leaded and Global Data and Technology in the Trade & Customs practice. George focuses on strategy development to address trade disruption primarily in global automotive supply chains including tariffs, forced labor risk, product traceability for incentives and supply chain regulations, and U.S. trade controls.  George is a board member of the Atlanta Council on International Relations where he coordinates dialogue on geopolitics and their effect on global trade relations and a frequent presenter on internal and external webcasts and events.

George is a leader in the development of technology solutions including machine learning, advanced trade data and analytics, and GenAI personas for trade applications. He led the development of solutions to monitor and manage U.S.-China tariffs using automation, designed KPMG’s Digital Gateway plaftform for delivery of services including Tariff Modeling to the practice’s global clients. George was the founder of the firm’s duty drawback and tariff recovery service line to support companies seeking to recover increased duties and tariffs. He is an automotive global sector lead partner, working cross-functionally to address technical and operational considerations in the supply chain. George also coordinates teams to leverage trade data with a focus on implement credits and incentives programs for alternative energy installations, and mitigating risk of forced labor in supply chains.
