

Samantha Kappagoda

Samantha Kappagoda is an independent director and nominating committee chair of the Credit Suisse Funds, chief data scientist of Numerati Partners, visiting scholar at NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, and a member of the Business Board of the Governing Council at the University of Toronto. Kappagoda has founded data analytics and emerging technology firms and a journal on risk, established an NYU research lab, and led analytics at the World Bank and global macro hedge fund Caxton Associates with $15 billion of assets under management. Kappagoda was featured in “Directors to Watch” by Directors & Boards and is frequently invited to speak on governance topics. She served as faculty at the NACD Master Class® on Technology & Innovation Oversight and as a panelist at the Top-10 ranked “Blind Spots in the Boardroom” at NACD Summit 2024. She recently authored “Board Governance of AI and Emerging Technologies” in Directors & Boards.
