Angela John is a seasoned independent board director and strategic advisor with over 30 years of leadership experience in the global energy sector. She brings deep expertise in commercial strategy, innovation, and sustainability across traditional and emerging energy markets. Her board service spans public companies, trade associations, and government advisory bodies, reflecting a commitment to sound governance and forward-looking energy solutions.

John currently serves on the boards of directors for Parkland Corp. (TSX: PKI) and TETRA Technologies Inc. (NYSE: TTI). She contributes her energy commodity and strategic expertise to Parkland Corp.—a leading independent fuel supplier and renewable energy producer—on the environmental, safety and sustainability, and human resources and compensation committees. At TETRA Technologies—an advanced energy solutions provider operating across six continents—she serves on the audit and the nominating, governance, and sustainability committees. In 2024, John was appointed by the US Secretary of Energy to the National Petroleum Council, where she advises on the future of energy as part of this federal advisory committee.

Her executive experience includes leadership at Williams as director of innovation and strategy, where she led the development of the company’s New Energy Ventures, advancing initiatives in hydrogen, renewable natural gas, carbon capture, and low-carbon technologies. Prior to that, she spent 27 years at BP, where she held senior roles in marketing, origination, and supply chain optimization, culminating as senior vice president of marketing and origination in the supply and trading division.

John is also an experienced strategic advisor, working independently with organizations to shape commercialization strategies and drive energy innovation. She previously served on the National Propane Gas Association board and executive committee, where she chaired and contributed to several strategic committees, including supply and logistics, finance, and constitution.

John holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the University of Houston and a master of business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, with concentrations in marketing, strategy, and organizational design. She is NACD Directorship Certified® and holds certifications in cyber risk oversight and energy markets.
